Go to forums, groups or bulletin boards and join there, ask peoples help, guidence. Also you can contact your friends and neibhours ask them about the online jobs. Good paying compnies won't take money from you. If they ask money double check them, or join later. As per my experience, i joined a web site for free to bid for web designing jobs. Every day there were jobs posted and people were bidding and my self too bid for them, in the long run i found out many jobs were fake and they tried to cheat me.

So i asked them to discontinue my membership, for that there were no response, but to my horror they sold my email to scam artists. First i got mails for making banner, webs for commission, i didn't respond to them. Then mails were coming from medicine selling people enlargemnet method people and so on. My primary mail was just went as a waste basket. So be carefull about them. Read carefully the terms and conditions, look for hidden clues and so on.
